Leading with Care: Our Whole-School Mental Health Safeguarding
We’re proud to share that our Head of School Lorne Schmidt and Whole School Safeguarding Lead, Gareth Owen have been invited as keynote speakers at the upcoming seminar organized by the Macau Cradle of Hope and City University of Macau. Their keynote, “Implementing the Whole-School Approach in Safeguarding Student Mental Health,” reflects not only our deep commitment to student wellbeing, but also our role as thought leaders in shaping inclusive, accountable school cultures.
This invitation is an honour, and a recognition of the work our community has done to embed safeguarding into every layer of school life. As child safeguarding comes to the forefront of school priorities, our school continues to lead with clarity, care, and a whole-school approach that prioritises mental health as a shared responsibility. From classroom practice to staff training, from signage to systems, we believe safeguarding mental health is not a department, it’s a shared responsibility.
We’re proud to contribute our voice to this important dialogue, and even prouder to help shape the standards by which student mental health is safeguarded across Macau and beyond.
The seminar is free and open to all. Join us at the City University of Macau to be part of this vital conversation.
